Hi, my name is Jason Tame. I am an IT manager, hobbyist developer, educator and ICT trainer. I am currently based in Durban, South Africa.

I work for an NGO called the Social Project. Our ultimate goal is eradicating extreme poverty in South Africa, and working towards eliminating the massive income inequality that exists here. Follow this blog for more news and stories about our work throughout the country.

I am passionate about developing programming skills in the next generation of young South Africans. This isn’t just about giving people the skills to build apps and websites. It’s also about developing crucial skills necessary for survival in a 21st century workplace – problem solving, criticial thinking, creativity and computational thinking. When I takeon development projects, I’ll document my progress here for those interested in learning to code. Feel free to contact me if you’d like some help getting started on your own journey towards learning how to code.
